by Viewtalk Education
Viewtalk reporters Sannah and Bruce visited the beautiful city of Cambridge on 3rd November to attend a presitigious conference on Mental Health and Deafness. This is held over three days, 2nd - 5th November and 250 delegates are expected to come with 75 presentations being delievered by professionals and experts in their specialist field. The theme of the Congress, 'Healthy Deaf Minds in Europe', will serve as the agenda for an exciting scientific programme providing a forum for addressing mental health issues and developing links between all of the various professionals working in the field of deafness, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, therapists, nurses, social workers, interpreters, educationists, deaf people, carers and the community.
We interviewed members of the conference on their views on the conference, what bought them here and their thoughts on mental health services for the deaf. We met some fascinating people, and gained an insight in the field of mental health and deafness.
